Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) produced another batting masterclass on Saturday (April 20)as they beathosts Delhi Capitals by 67runs.On an evening where SRH broke the record for the highest powerplay score with 125 runs in six overs, the hosts were left helpless andwere narrowedto their fifth defeat of the season. The win for SRH has seen them cement their place firmly in aninterestingbattle for the playoff placesincludingthe second spotwhichguarantees two chances to reach the final in Chennai.

DC never in contest

Tasked to chase a mammoth 267 runs to win, DC were never in the contest after they lost openers Prithvi Shaw (16) and David Warner (1) inside the powerplay. Jake Fraser-McGurk (65 off 18) and Abhishek Porel (42 off 22) tried to come good with the bat, but the scoreboard pressure ultimately got the better of them as they suffered the defeat. Captain Rishabh Pant scored44,but could not help his side avoid the defeat on their return to the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Batting first, SRH scored 266/7 in their 20 overs, their third-highest score in thehistory of the tournament.Travis Head led the charge withyet another fifty as he scored89 off 32 deliveries.His innings consisted of 11 fours and6sixes.Shahbaz Ahmed was alsoamongstthe runshavingscoredan unbeaten 59 off 29 while Abhishek Sharma amassed 46 of 12scoringat almost4runs per ball.Nitish Reddy also played a good part in the inningsscoring37 off 27.

Interestingly, three bowlersended up givingup more than fifty runs as Kuldeep Yadav ended with figures of 55/4.
