IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians set off-field example with ESA initiative
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season is all set for an extraordinary final one month as teams look to stamp their authority on the competition. Mumbai Indiansinparticularwill be looking to make a spectacular comeback into the IPL 2024 withkeymatches ahead.However,it is their off-field initiative that has caught the attention of the cricketing fraternity, setting the stage for 18,000 school students to attend an IPL match in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium.
Since 2010, Mumbai Indianshas been supportingESA - Education and Sports for All. Through this initiative, Reliance Foundation has impacted the lives of over 18 million children. The initiative provides quality education and sporting opportunities to children across India.
Earlier launched as Education for All (EFA), it was transformed into Education and Sports for All (ESA) in2018with children from different NGOs participatingevery yearin the program.
2024 was no exceptionas18,000 students from different schools and NGOs attended MumbaiIndians’IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals atMumbai’sWankhede Stadium.
“The children are bringing so much positivity and joy to the stadium.18000children are in the stands today from different NGOs. I believe that sport does not discriminate and talent can come from anywhere. Maybe one of these kids will reach the pinnacle of sportandI hope they take back a lot of cherished memories from this experience and the power and courage to believe in their dreams,”Chairperson,of Reliance Foundation said.
