While the nation is recovering from the shocking news of Bollywood superstar Sridevi's death, the Congress party has come under the radar over the condolence message it had tweeted.

Sridevi, 54, was in Dubai for a family wedding when she suffered a cardiac arrest. Her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi were by her side when she breathed her last.

Congress condemned the actor's demise in a Tweet which read: "We regret to hear about the passing away of Sridevi. A legend who will continue to live in our hearts through her stellar body of work. Our deepest condolence to her loved ones. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the UPA govt in 2013."

Although, soon after facing backlash from the public for politicising the issue, it deleted the Tweet and in order to cover up it posted a series of Tweets talking about the actor's journey on Bollywood.
