T20 World Cup, India vs Pakistan: Indian players celebrate after fall of Pakistan wicket
Indiaemerged victorious by six runs in a rain-affected match against arch-rivals Pakistan after the bowlers produced a masterclass in defending a low target. Pakistan were in the driving seat for the major part of the game but lost their way in the last 45 minutes as Jasprit Bumrah produced a spell for the ages to bring Indiaright back into the contest.
"It feels really good. We felt we were a little under and the wicket got a little better after the sun came out. We were really disciplined so it feels good. Tried to hit the seam as much as I could, tried to be as clear as I could with my execution and it all came out well so I felt happy," said Bumrah after the match.
At the halfway stage, India were down and out of the contest after the middle order produced a sorry performance. Put into bat first, India were going at decent clip with the scoreboard reading 89/3 in the 12th over.
However, India lost the remaining seven wickets whilst adding only 30 runs. Some poor shots and the inability to adjust to the tackiness of the wicket meant that Pakistan bowlers reaped the rewards as India stared at a second loss to Pakistan in their entire World Cup history.

Chasing the target, Pakistan were off to a solid start with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan putting a 26-run partnership. Bumrah was the first to strike after he bowled a beautiful outswinger that kissed Babar's outside edge and landed in Suryakumar Yadav's big mittens at first slip.
With the captain gone, Rizwan joined forces with Usman Khan and kept Pakistan in the contest. Axar Patel, introduced into the attack in the 11th over, struck on the first ball and sent Khan packing.
The biggest turning point in the match came in the 15th over when Bumrah came in for his second spell and castled Rizwan on the first ball. Eventually, the speedster finished with astonishing figures, reading 4-0-14-3.
"He's [Bumrah] going from strength to strength. We all know what he can do. Not going to talk too much about him. Want him to be in that mindset throughout the WC. He's a genius, we all know that," said Rohit in the post-match presentation ceremony.
With 18 runs required in the final over, Arshdeep Singh held his nerves and kept the Pakistani batters quiet. The win means that India have all but ensured a place in the Super 8.
As for Pakistan, they will have to win their remaining matches withbig margins and hope that other results go in their favour.
