Tim Walz's steamy affair with Chinese Communist official's daughter left her suicidal: Report

The running mate of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, was reportedly involved in a steamy affair with a top Chinese Communist Party official's daughter, Jenna Wang, in the 1980s.
According to a report published in The Daily Mail, the steamy affair started during Walz's teaching stint in Foshan through the nonprofit WorldTeach and left the latter devastated and suicidal.
The report was published days before the November 5 US presidential election,where Harris is battling Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

It has also surfaced at the time when Walz has been facing backlash for falsely stating that he was in Hong Kong in the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
As per the report published in Daily Mail, Tim Walz showered gifts on Jenna Wang and even seduced her at his staff accommodation.

The couple was not able to hold hands or display their affection in public because the father of Wang was a high-ranking figure in the Chinese Communist Party, and it was highly likely that he would disown her if he found out about her affair with a Westerner.
"Tim was very passionate and very romantic. I can still remember dancing with him to our favourite song, Careless Whisper," Wang said while speaking to DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview.

"The fact we couldn't touch or kiss in public just made it all the more exciting and intense when we were finally alone. We were deeply in love and I wanted to marry him and start a family. When it didn't happen, I felt very unhappy and sad. Tim's behaviour was very selfish," she added.
Tim's behaviour made Chinese official's daughter feel like 'prostitute'
She said that since no marriage proposal came from Tim's side, Wang felt that she was being treated "like a prostitute" which left her feeling angry and suicidal.
Wang said that the couple started having arguments over whether she was actually in love with Walz or just wanted to get a US visa.
"Knowing that he wasn't going to marry me made me feel cheap and common, as if I was being treated like a prostitute... I was deeply insulted, hurt, and I had to leave that place, because many people knew that we had a relationship," said Wang.
