<p>The Chinese netizens on the social media platforms were shocked when they found out about the “control freak” parents who landed in trouble after their adult daughter filed a complaint against them for installing a surveillance camera in her bedroom.</p>

<p>The story of the parents spying on their daughter emerged when the 20-year-old woman reached out to the Beijing police station for help on July 26.</p>

<p>The police officers were informed by the second-year university student that she had run away from her home because she “wanted freedom”.</p>

<p>A senior Delhi government official was arrested by the police on Monday in India's capital New Delhi on charges of raping his deceased friend’s teen daughter for several months.</p>

<p>His wife was also booked after it was found that she gave abortion pills to the minor girl when she became pregnant, in a bid to keep the matter under wraps.</p>

<p>"We have arrested two accused in connection with this case. One of them is Premoday Khakha, 51... the second is his wife Seema Rani, 50. We have arrested Seema Rani as she was aware of the incident and (was) effective in getting the abortion," senior Delhi Police officer Sagar Singh Khalsi said.</p>

<p>According to police, the 16-year-old girl was staying with the family of Premoday Khakha—a deputy director in the women and child development department in the Delhi government—after her father passed away in October 2020.</p>

<p>The matter came to light last week when the girl was admitted to a hospital over anxiety issues.</p>

<p>During psychological counselling, she disclosed her ordeal to the doctors, counsellors, and police officers and revealed that she was sexually harassed, physically molested, and repeatedly raped for several months between 2020 and 2021.</p>

<p>The girl—who is studying Class XII—is said to be recovering and receiving care.</p>

<h2><strong>Official booked under POCSO Act</strong></h2>

<p>Following this, the police in Burari area registered a case against Khakha under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 376(2)(f)(being a relative, guardian, or teacher of, or a person in a position of trust or authority towards the woman, commits rape on such woman), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 313 (causing miscarriage without woman's consent), 120B ( (criminal conspiracy).</p>

<p>At a time when political bigwigs in India grab attention by hosting extravagant weddings for their children, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman opted for a small and intimate event for her daughter Parakala Vangamayi.</p>

<p>The wedding took place in India’s Bengaluru city in southern Karnataka state. It was a simple event, with no political heavyweights, including from her Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), being present.</p>

<p>The wedding of Vangamayi and Prateek, who is from Gujarat, took place as per Brahmin traditions and in the Vedic order of Adamaru Mutt. Seers from Udupi Adamaru Mutt were present to bless the betrothed couple.</p>

<p>The clip that went viral on social media showed Vangmayi wearing a pink saree while Prateek wearing a white shawl and pancha (white unstitched cloth&nbsp;wrap&nbsp;for the lower body). While Sitharaman was seen wearing a blue saree with a bright orange blouse.<br />

<p>Sitharaman's husband Parakala Prabhakar is a distinguished political economist who has significantly contributed as a communications adviser and held a unique cabinet-rank position in the Andhra Pradesh government from July 2014 to June 2018.</p>

<p>Pratik Doshi, as per the Prime Minister's Office website, is an officer on special duty (OSD) who holds a significant role in the research and strategy wing, providing secretarial assistance to the PM on matters such as research and strategy, in accordance with the government of India (allocation of business) rules, 1961.</p>

<p>Doshi is a graduate of Singapore Management School, He previously served as a research assistant in the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office (CMO) during Narendra Modi's tenure as the chief minister.</p>
