Former US president Donald Trump was the target of a second assassination attempt in two months, as a gunman opened fire while he was playing at his golf course, in Florida. Trump reassured his supporters that he was "safe and well" and declared, "I will NEVER SURRENDER." The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested by the Secret Service.

Israeli media reports indicate that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is once again threatening to dismiss Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for opposing a military strike against Lebanon.

India has launched "Operation Sadbhav," sending relief aid to Myanmar, Vietnam, and Laos, following the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi.
