J D Vance introduces himself as Trump's running mate, promises to give his everything 'to serve' Americans

US Senator J D Vance on Wednesday (July 17) night, presented himself as Donald Trump's vice presidential running mate for the upcoming November election.
In his acceptance speech, Vance, who hails from an industrial town in Ohio, pledged to fight for the working class if elected.
Vance, 39, recounted his challenging journey from a tough childhood to the US Marines, Yale Law School, venture capitalism, and finally, the US Senate.
Telling the people his life story, Vance attempted to connect with Americans, emphasising that he understands their daily struggles.

Vance criticised "career politicians" like President Joe Biden, and said Biden has been in politics longer than he (Vance) has been alive. He accused such politicians of destroying communities with misguided trade policies and foreign wars.
Thanking Trump for the nomination, Vance said: "Mr President, I will never take for granted the trust you have put in me. And what an honour it is to help achieve the extraordinary vision that you have for this country."
"Now I pledge to every American, no matter your party, I will give you everything I have to serve you and to make this country a place where every dream you have for yourself, your family and your country will be possible once again."
Vance's meteoric rise in politics
Vance's nomination as Trump's running mate marks a significant moment in his rapid ascent in politics.
Less than two years after assuming his first public office, he has gone from a Trump critic to one of his staunchest supporters.
"Every single day for the next four years. When I walk into that White House to help President Trump, I will be doing it for you, for your family, for your future, and for this great country. Thank you. God bless all of you, and God bless our great country," saidVance.

Vance's on abortion rights
Vance, as per CNN, is a staunch supporter of making abortion illegal nationwide. In a 2022 episode of the podcast "Very Fine People" Trump's running mate had said that he would "certainly" like for "abortion to be illegal nationally".
"It's not whether a woman should be forced to bring a child to term, it's whether a child should be allowed to live, even though the circumstances of that child's birth are somehow inconvenient or a problem to the society," he said.
"The question really, to me, is about the baby," he added.
