
Marvel's universe has a new addition to its long list of series with "The Punisher"making its debut in the form of a standalone series on Netflix on November 17.Itis said to have 13 episodes to start with.
The Punisher was originally introduced in the Marvel Comics' "The Amazing Spider-Man"in 1974.
The official synopsis of "The Punisher"reads:
"After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York's criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone."
The Netflix-Marvel series features actors Deborah Ann Woll, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R. Moore, Daniel Webber, Michael Nathanson and Paul Schulze, besides Jon Bernthal in the titular role.
The critics have already reviewed the series with some calling it the best Marvel showto date, while others labelling it as a show withunpleasant violence.
