
Larry, the beloved chief mouser of the UK's Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is set to have a companion in Prime Minister Keir Starmer's new Siberian kitten.
"The kitten will REPORT to Larry the Cat," an X account that goes by the name 'Larry the Cat' said. The comment generated over two million impressions on X and a wave of sarcasm-filled empathy for Larry, the ageing chief mouser of 10, Downing Street.
"Siberian? Larry, do you trust him?," a user wrote on X. "I suspect he miaows with a Moscow accent," another user replied.
"It's a young man's game, Larry... Time to delegate some day-to-day tasks and focus on running the country, decent of Keir to get you an assistant," a third user wrote on X.
"Larry, you are getting an assistant. That will take some of the pressure off your duties," a fourth user on X added.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has allowed his children to get a new kitten while they live at Downing Street, after "a long summer of negotiations" about a dog, the Prime Minister has revealed.
The UK Prime Minister was asked for an update on remarks he made during the summer general election campaign that his children were pestering him to get a German shepherd dog.

"Well, those negotiations have been going on. There’s been a long summer of negotiations, back and forth, different options," he replied.
"But now we’ve gone for – and this is an agreed after long negotiations, I said we’d get in the room and sort it out – we are now getting a kitten instead of a dog."
He later added,"This is a Siberian kitten, which is being picked up today by my daughter and so that’s where it ended up."
