"Rishi Sunak has offered his resignation to The King but Keir Starmer has yet to be appointed as Prime Minister, so who’s in charge? Me," an X account attributed to Larry the Cat wrote.

The Conservative heavyweight Rishi Sunak stepped down as prime minister of the United Kingdom after the Tories failed to win a majority in UK's general election. The Conservative Party won just 120 seats in the 650-member House of Commons, the lower house of the parliament directly elected by the people.

The Labour Party returned to power after 14 years, winning 412 seats. The Labour crossed the majority mark of 326 seats to form the government with Sir Keir Starmer as its leader.&nbsp;
