Elon Musk's Tesla issues recall for Cybertruck over acceleration flaw

Cybertruck

Tesla is recalling 3,878 Cybertruck vehicles because of a problem that might make them speed up unexpectedly, which could lead to accidents. The issue is with the accelerator pedal, which might get stuck on the Cybertruck, Elon Musk's version of the American pickup truck

If the accelerator pedal becomes trapped, "the performance and operation of the pedal will be affected, which may increase the risk of a collision," Tesla said in the notice.

Tesla stated that it had no knowledge of any accidents or injuries linked to the problem. The company plans to fix the issue by either replacing or adjusting the accelerator, it added.

Musk has been a strong supporter of the Cybertruck, announcing at a launch event last November that"Finally, the future will look like the future!"

However, manufacturing challenges arise from the vehicle's use of large, flat, unbent stainless steel plates. Musk has acknowledged that it will take time to increase production, aiming for 2025 as the year when production will reach 250,000 units annually.

An Indian-origin woman who was laid off shared her ordeal on LinkedIn.

She mentioned being one of the 10 per centof employees let go this week and described the experience as "disheartening and distressing." She asked for help finding her next job.

"I could never have imagined that I would be typing this message. It's truly unfortunate that I am among the 10% of Tesla employees who were laid off today. The sudden logging out from all business platforms yesterday heightened my unease, and this was confirmed this morning,"Karnik wrote in her LinkedIn post.
