Stokes’ bat ‘goes flying’ as Noman outfoxes England captain in flight - WATCH
England captain Ben Stokes lost his bat while attempting to smash Noman Ali for a six, only to see him lose his balance and get out stumped. Stokes came down charging against the slow left-armer and missed it, losing his bat that went flying and eventually his wicket. His manner of dismissal made up for a fantastic video package for the viewers.

Stokes returned to the playing XI for the second Test in Multan for the first time since suffering a right hamstring injury while playing in The Hundred in August this year. The English all-rounder missed the home Test series against Sri Lanka but was picked in the squad for the away Pakistan tour.
Despite being named on the side, Stokes missed the first Test in Multan for failing to recover from the injury. Following that game, which England won by an innings and 47 runs, the stand-in captain, Ollie Pope, hinted at Stokes’ return in the next tie.

Upon picking the final XI for the second Test, the visitors brought Stokes for Chris Woakes and Matt Potts for Gus Atkinson. Though their changes didn’t ensure a clean sweep over Pakistan in Multan, the four changes Pakistan made to their XI helped them.
Noman and Sajid were brought into the side for Shaheen and Naseem, picking up 20 wickets between them. Although this is the first time since 1956 that a spin duo picked all opposition wickets across both innings, it was the second instance in Pakistan's history that two bowlers achieved this feat, first since 1956.
A win in Multan, however, is their first Test win this year under new captain Shan Masood.
Meanwhile, a loss in the second Test makes the final tie in Rawalpindi the decider, with both teams motivated to push for a series win.
While England hammered Pakistan across three matches they toured two years ago, Pakistan’s last Test series win came in 2023 against Sri Lanka.
