Nepalese cricketer breaks Sachin Tendulkar's 29-year-old record

Nepalese cricketer Rohit Paudel became the youngest male player to hit an international half-century at the age of 16 years and 146 days. With this feat, Paudel broke batting great Sachin Tendulkar's 29-year-old record.
Paudel is, however, some way off the overall record for all international cricket as South African women's player Johmari Logtenburg had scored the fifties in both Test and ODI cricket as a 14-year-old.
Tendulkar had hit his maiden international fifty at 16 years and 213 days in a Test match against Pakistan in Faisalabad in 1989.
While in ODI, the mark was set by Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi, who smashed a 37-ball century which was a record at the time, aged 16 years and 217 days in his maiden international innings against Sri Lanka.
Paudel had previously come close to setting a world record when he made his ODI debut aged 15 years and 335 days back in August 2018, making him the fourth-youngest man in history to do so.
With the help of Paudel's 58-ball 55, Nepal beat United Arab Emirates by 145 runs in an ODI at Dubai.
