Arsenal coach Unai Emery calls for VAR after conceding two penalties at Liverpool

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery expressed regret about the penalty decisions that went against his side during the 1-5 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

However, he believes that his squad can learn from the "bad experience" the defeat provided.

While addressing the media, Emery said, "The two last goals, two penalties - I think it's a lot for us. I think VAR is important when it comes here next year.

"Not just to do justice but I think it's also going to help the referees to take further their decision."

Liverpool conceded an early goal but failed to build on the momentum as Roberto Firmino produced a hat trick to power Liverpool to a ninth straight Premier League triumph.

"After our goal, I think we started well. At the beginning we are good positioning, but after our goal they push it and when they push it here, they play with great determination and they have players to make the difference in all the pitch, but especially in our box.

Emery added, "They scored two, three quick goals and it's a difficult moment for us but we spoke in the dressing room, it's another experience for us. Bad experience, to learn."

With 38 points, Arsenal remain secure in fifth place for the moment despite losing their fourth match in a row.
