Gandhi scion stepped up the attack on the ruling dispensation on Sunday by taking to Twitter
Since the multi-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam involving tainted diamond czar Nirav Modi came to light, Congress president Rahul Gandhi seized the opportunity and launched a repeatedattack on the Modi-led BJP government saying that the scam of this magnitude cannot have been done without a high-level protection. It must have been known by the people in government beforehand otherwise it is not possible, he said yesterday.
On Sunday, the Gandhi scion stepped up the attack on the ruling dispensation and questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the matter.

Gandhi also accused Arun Jaitley of hiding.
''Mr Jaitley is in hiding,'' he tweeted and urged both the BJP leaders to speak on the issue.

Rahul Gandhi linked the PNB scam to demonetisation yesterday and said the PM Modi’s decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, was the catalyst for the bank scam.
“On that day, PM took the entire nation’s money and put this into banks. Now, his friends and cronies have stolen that money from the banks,” the Congress president said.
Continuing its crackdown on the scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested three officials of Punjab National Bank in connection with the Rs 11300 crore scam.
The arrested officials include the then deputy manager of PNB Gokulnath Shetty, single window operator Manoj Kharat, and authorised signatory of the Nirav Modi Group of Firms Hemant Bhatt.
