The Regional Meteorological Department of Mumbai (RMC) has issued an orange alert for Thane as it is likely to receive heavy rains on July 14. A yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai.

Four districts of Maharashtra, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Satara, and Sindhudurg, are expected to receive heavy rainfall on July 14. RMC has issued a red alert for the districts.

Apart from Thane, the weather department has issued an orange alert for Raigad and Pune, while a yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai and Palghar.

Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri Pune, Kolhapur, Palghar, Sindhudurg, Satara and Parbhani have been issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall on July 15. Most areas of Vidarbha region have also been issued an orange alert and are likely to witness moderate to heavy rain activity.

Mumbai Rains

On Sunday (Jul 14), Mumbai woke up to water logging in many areas. The city has been witnessing heavy rainfall, resulting in long traffic jams and water logging in several places.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city and nearby areas on Sunday. While there is also a possibility of extremely heavy rains in isolated parts. A high tides warning has been issued in the region.

Other states forecast

Extremely heavy rains are predicted in Konkan, Goa, coastal and south regions of Karnataka, and Gujarat for the next three days. Telangana and Chhattisgarh are also likely to witness rainfall.

The weather department also predicted heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh till July 15. It is also forecasted that Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan will receive heavy rainfall till July 17, while Himachal Pradesh on July 16 and 17.

Heavy rainfall is predicted in eastern and northeastern states. Rains are expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Nagaland till July 16 and in Odisha till July 17. While West Bengal and Sikkim may witness showers on July 15.
