Argentina great Lionel Messi confirms he will retire at Inter Miami
Argentina great Lionel Messi has revealed that he will retire at Inter Miami while opening up about his fears and thoughts on life post-retirement from football. It is to be noted that Messi's contract ends with Inter Miami in 2025 and that might put an end to his glittering career as well. The Argentine has had a stellar run in football. He has won the Champions League multiple times, secured league titles in Spain as well as in France andled Argentina to Copa America and a World Cup titlein 2021 and 2022, respectively. In addition, the 36-year-old's trophy cabinet is filled with numerous Ballon d'Or awards; stamping his authority as one of the greats of the game.
'I think Inter Miami is going to be my last club'
In an interview with ESPN Argentina, Messi said, "I'm not prepared to leave football. I did this all my life, I enjoy the trainings, the games. The fear that everything is going to be over, it's always there. I think Inter Miami is going to be my last club."
Messi became a part ofInter Miami in 2023, after his two-year stint with French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Messi, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, has scored as many as 14 goals in all competitions for Inter Miami this season. In his first year with his current club, the striker scored 11 goals in 14 appearances along with converting three spot-kicks in penalty shootouts.
