Ukraine has claimed that it destroyed two Russian bridges by using some cheap drones and Russia's own mines. The incident unfolded in the early days of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, were Ukraine hit stashes of mines and ammunition hidden there by Russian forces.

The Ukrainian military said the two bridges near the border with Ukraine’s Kharkiv region were being used by the Russian military to resupply their troops. Russia had mined the bridges to blow them up in case of a sudden Ukrainian advance.
Destroying bridges, roads and other key infrastructure on its own territory to prevent the enemy from advancing is unusual for an army which is already facing attack.
Ukraine’s 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade told CNN that they decided have a closer look at the bridge after the attack.

It became clear that something was going on there. We couldn’t fly a regular reconnaissance drone under the bridge because the signal would simply disappear, so we flew in with a first-person-view drone equipped with fiber optics,” a representative of the brigade told CNN.

US President Donald Trump has approved the sale of 3,350 Extended Range Attack Munitions (ERAM) missiles to Ukraine, providing a potentially powerful tool to Kyiv as it continues to face a relentless assault by Russia. The announcement of the sale, worth around $825 million, came on Thursday (August 29) as diplomatic efforts to end the war have yet to yield a result and following a deadly night of Russian strikes on the Ukrainian capital.
This came after the American president had individual meetings with the president of Russia and Ukraine this month. He has even announced a third meeting together with the leaders of both war-torn nations
