Muslim men and women from around the world started using the hashtag yesterday and in less than 24 hours it was tweeted 2,000 times. It has gone on to become one of the top ten trends of Farsi Twitter
Women are finally coming out with their sexual harassment incidents without any hesitation, all thanks to the "MeToo" movement. This time its several women in Islam who have spoken up about sexual experiences at Hajj.
Even holy places are not safe for women anymore. Even at Hajj, atthecity ofMecca, where people perform their religious Islamic duties.
Women have now come out to talk about the horrid instances whilecarrying outtawafaround the Kaaba duringtheir pilgrimage to Mecca.
It all started when a woman named Sabica Khan took to Facebook to share her #MeToo moment at Hajj, and found out that she wasn’t alone.

This led to an Egyptian-American feminist and journalist Mona Eltahawy to share her story which dated years back - when she was 15, she is now 50 years old. She was also first talked about her experience of sexual assault during Hajj in 2013.
She is the women behind the famous #MosqueMeToo, which has caught several people's attention and soon became a trending topic on Twitter.
