The United States (US) has reacted to the sudden withdrawal of Israeli military troops from the southern Gaza Strip. On Sunday (Apr 7), White House national security spokesperson John Kirby called the surprise removal of troops a "rest and refit plan." Kirby also said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured US President Joe Biden that he would make changes in Israel's military operations.
Russia on Sunday blamed Ukraine for launching drones on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station and causing safety concerns. According to Russian officials, no serious damage happened to the reactor and the radiation levels remained normal.
In other news from around the world, a judge in Brazil has opened an inquiry into Elon Musk over charges of obstruction of justice. The inquiry as per a court document involves Musk's social media company X.

White House national security spokesperson John Kirby, in an interview with ABC News, said, "As we understand it, and through their public announcements, it is really just about rest and refit for these troops ... and not necessarily that we can tell indicative of some coming new operation for these troops."

Russia on Sunday (April 7) held Ukraine responsible for launching drones on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station and causing safety concerns. Ukraine's military was held responsible for the attack by Russia's nuclear power corporation Rosatom and international energy officials for detonating a drone against the dome which covered the closed nuclear reactor.
A Brazilian judge on Sunday (Apr 7) opened an inquiry into Elon Musk over charges of obstruction of justice. The inquiry as per a court document involves Musk's social media company X, formerly Twitter. This comes after Musk challenged a decision by Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, ordering X to block certain accounts.
The airline regulators in the United States have started investigating another mishap involving a Boeing jet after an engine cowling in one of its jets fell off during take-off and hit a wing flap. After the mishap, Southwest Airlines' Boeing 737-800 flight flew back safely to Denver International airport at around 15:15 GMT.
