A woman bought Hermes bag at just $7 from local thrift store- a shocker story followed

A woman from Winnipeg, Canada believed that she purchased a Hermes bag for just $7 from a local thrift store, thinking she found the best bargain of her life. As per a report in Newsweek, after close examination, she discovered a severe issue. Ashlee believed she had spent $7 (nearly Rs. 587) on an original French luxury Hermes bag, but after reaching home, she discovered that it was fake.

Notably, the brand Hermes has some of the priciest purses and bags around the globe. Their starting price is $10,000 and can cost thousands of dollars, depending on the type, model and features.

In a TikTok video posted by the account @msfili, a woman is looking through some bags at a nearby thrift store, and suddenly she finds a red leather bag that, according to her, is a Hermes original bag. Considering that the bag cost just $9, she was shocked and happy. She said in the clip, “That's a Hermes." "It's a Hermes. It has a little stain on the front, but it's not a big deal."

Later she discovered that it was not authentic. Speaking to the outlet, she mentioned, "This bag unfortunately ended up being fake; it was real leather and felt like good quality. But I have found authentic Louis Vuitton and Chanel bags at the thrift store previously."

She added, "You never know what amazing things you can find! It's a great way to replenish your wardrobe and furnish your home on a budget, and it's an excellent way to earn some extra money by selling on Facebook Marketplace or eBay!"

According to most TikTok users, the bag was one of the most well-known, like a Kelly or a Hermes Birkin. The items on these labels are not expensive, but they are also unavailable most of the time so it is not easy to purchase them.

Madison Avenue Couture claims that the designer creates fewer pieces of these bags to maintain exclusivity. There is always a waiting list for these bags and even if you find it at some boutique, you will have to buy it in a material or colour that isn’t the first choice.
