On Monday (May 27), Novak Djokovic was in attendance to watch Rafael Nadal's opening game in the French Open 2024 edition, where he was up againstGermany's Alexander Zverev. Facingfourth-seed Zverev, the Spaniard gave a fight but eventually lost in straight sets,3-6, 6-7, 3-6, to bow out of this year'sRoland Garros. Nadal, the former world number one, came into the clay-court tournament after a string of injuries and was playing his first-ever Grand Slam in 2024. With him having a tough first round against Zverev, many didn't expect Nadal to emerge on top. However, some big names were in attendance to watch him play in what may have been his last appearance at the French Open.
Nadal's longtime rival Novak Djokovic was in attendance to watch the high-profile clash. The likes of Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz also sat in the spectator stand.

Nadal has been the most successful player in French Open history. Of the 22 Grand Slam titles won by him, 14 have come at Roland Garros.
Given his form and fitness, Nadal may find it tough to reappear at the Roland Garros. He has already hinted at not playing this year's Wimbledon and is hoping to return for the Paris Olympicsin July-August.After the defeat, he was asked about his future at the French Open. To this, the veteran said, "It is difficult for me to talk. I don't know if it is the last time that I am going to be here in front of you. I'm not 100 per cent sure but if it's the last time, I enjoyed it."
