Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar extended his deepest condolences after a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore to Karachi crashed near Karachi airport in a residential area on Friday. Akhtar took to social media platform Twitter to offer his condolences while praying for those affected in the crash.
As per reports, the PIA flight had 98 passengers on board and crashed in Karachi’s suburb destroying several houses, damaging cars and properties. The flight captain had informed about a ‘technical snag’ before it crashed.
"Just heard the devastating news of PIA plane crash. May Allah bless every soul we lost in this. It was flying Lahore to Karachi & crashed just before landing. Inna lillahi wa inna elaihi rajaoon," Akhtar tweeted.

It was flying Lahore to Karachi & crashed just before landing.

According to PTI, the flight PK-303 from Lahore was supposed to land in Karachi when the crash happened at the Jinnah Garden area nearby Model Colony, Malir. It added that the crash took place minutes before the landing of the PIA aircraft, damaging scores of houses in the area.

As per reports Army Quick Reaction Force and Singh Pakistan Rangers have arrived at the crash site and an emergency has been declared in all Karachi hospitals in the wake of the crash.
As per officials, as many as 98 people were on board including 91 passengers and seven crew members.
