Over 100,000 pilgrims complete Amarnath Yatra in first five days breaking all previous records

Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir has broken all the previous records with over 100,000 people completing the pilgrimage in the first five days. This is a new record that has been made in the first five days of the Amarnath Yatra which started on June 29. According to the Shrine Board of Amarnath Yatra, over 30,000 pilgrims paid obeisance at the Holy Shrine on July 3 taking the figure to over 100,000 pilgrims.
The Shrine Board has said that 1,05,282 people have visited the holy shrine in the last five days since the yatra began, breaking all previous records. The same figure was crossed in the first ten days of the yatra in 2023. The 3,888-metre-high mountain cave temple of Lord Shiva is one of the most revered temples in Hinduism and is considered one of the "Dham" of the "Char Dham" pilgrimage.
''I just came back after finishing the Amarnath Yatra. We came back from the Baltal route, and it was a great journey. The weather was a little hot as there were no rains but only scorching sun, but we had a great darshan. I have come along with other Yatris. From the last 5 days, over a lac devotee have paid obeisance at the holy shrine and it was really very good,'' said Jitendra Saini,a yatri.
Around 60,000-70,000 troops have been deployed to secure the Amarnath Yatra routes in the Union Territory. Multiple security review meetings were held aheadof the start of thepilgrimageto make sure that every stepof the Yatra was fullysecured.

Jammu and Kashmir Police has made adequate security arrangements and theUnion Territory'sgovernment has established a digital Hi-tech Command Control Centre for real-time surveillance of the Amarnath Yatra routes. This will help the government to regulate the Yatra smoothly.
The Hi-tech Command Control Centre will have around 60 people from some20 government departments working day and night. The departments working in the Hi-tech Command Control Centre include Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, NDRF, SDRF, PHE, PDD, telecom and many others.
''I have come for Amarnath Yatra for the first time, and It was a true blessing. There were so many people taking up the pilgrimage that we felt very lucky to be part of this experience. I hope the walkways are improved a little more and I am sure in five days there have been more than one lac yatris and I am sure it will increase in the future. The whole atmosphere was filled with Bham Bham Bole sounds,'' said Dinesh Saini, a yatri.
The 52-day-long pilgrimage will conclude on August 19 on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Purnima, the day when the festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated.
