Stone pelters in J&K targeted a school bus at Zavoora area of south Kashmir's Shopian district on Wednesday morning.

"We have taken cognizance of the incident and have registered a case and further investigation taken up," the police said.

Former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah condemned the incident, tweeting: "How does pelting stones on school children or tourist buses help advance the agenda of these stone pelters?"

J&K chief minister Membooba Mufti promised to take action in the case.

"My son has been injured in stone pelting, this is against humanity. This could have been anyone's child," the father of the minor said.
