'Involved in love jihad, land jihad': Amit Shah's scathing attack on Jharkhand CM Soren

Indian Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (Jul 20) launched a scathing attack on the Jharkhand chief minister, accusing him of promoting "love jihad" and "land jihad" in the state. Shah said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren's policies were instrumental in the change ofthe demography of the tribal state.
"A tribal Chief Minister, instead of worrying about the tribals, is disturbing the balance of land and population by doing 'land jihad' and 'love jihad'. Thousands of infiltrators marry tribal girls, get certificates, and buy land. The tribal population is going to decrease in the coming days, it has decreased even now," Shah said during a party event in Ranchi.
The home minister added that if his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the state, they will bring a 'White Paper' on demography to protect tribal lands and rights.
"You form the government of BJP and we will secure the land, demography and reservation of our tribals by bringing a white paper," he declared.

Shah further claimed that thousands of illegal immigrants are entering the state and marrying local tribal women, which would end up reducing the tribal population in the state.
“If anywhere in the country the population of tribals is reducing, it is only in Jharkhand. If the people of Jharkhand vote the Bharatiya Janata Party to power, a white paper will be brought in to secure their land, population, and reservation. The manner in which illegal immigrants are entering the state is directly affecting the employment of the youth,” the home minister said.
He added that outsiders were usurping local jobs.
"I have come to tell Jharkhand today that JMM is the most corrupt government. Rs 300 crore was found from the house of a Congress MP. Rs 30 crore was found from the house of a minister's aide. The Congress party should answer whose money is this? Congress runs with such corrupt people, and JMM is also with them," Shah said.
Jharkhand's 81 assembly seats would be up for grabs in November-December polls, and theruling BJP is looking to widen its inroads in the Indian stateby defeating the incumbent Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government.
