Cannes guards under fire for 'mistreating' K-pop idol YoonA after Kelly Rowland and Massiel Taveras

Cannes security guards are facing massive backlash online for allegedly being disrespectful towards K-pop idol YoonA on the red carpet. Many are accusing the viral female guard of being racist and singling out YoonA, making it difficult for her to interact with cameras.

Netizens are claiming that the security guard has a "real problem" with a few "women of colour from posing on the stairs". A user wrote, "Kelly Rowland, Massiel Taveras, Yoona - There’s a pattern here. @Festival_Cannes should terminate her."

The backlash comes after similar incidents grabbed headlines and went viral online.

Recently, a similar incident unfolded on the staircase of the Palais des Festivals when Kelly Rowland had an altercation with the same female guard on the red carpet. Rowland was attending the premiere of Marcello Mio.

Meanwhile, a video of Dominican actress Massiel Taveras having a physical altercation with the same female guard is doing rounds on social media. The clip shows Taveras, visibly frustrated, pushing the guard’s arm away multiple times while exchanging heated words.

So it turns out the same security team that rushed Kelly Rowland off the Cannes red carpet also did the same with Dominican actress Massiel Taveras.

The former Destiny's Child member opened up about the incident later and even attributed it to something related to race. Now, fans found yet another video showing YoonA receiving the same treatment. Although the South Korean celeb didn’t express her anger outwardly, her facial expression looked visibly annoyed and uncomfortable.
