Away from the cinema, Nana Patekar became closely associated with farmer welfare and rural development. The actor has helped the drought-hit communities, families affected by farmer suicides, water conservation and rural livelihoods in Maharashtra.

Nana Patekar's contribution extended beyond his work in films, with the actor spending years supporting farmers and communities facing drought, debt and rural hardship. His involvement in social work became particularly prominent after he began visiting drought-affected parts of Maharashtra and witnessing the impact of farmer suicides on families.
