Two-time T20 World Cup champion and 2024 edition ambassador Chris Gayle says that India are going to be hard to beat in the final of ongoing T20 World Cup. Gayle made the comments in a video shared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Instagram.
“India are going to be so hard to beat. They bat so deep and in Jasprit Bumrah, have a world-class death bowler who can break the hearts of the opponents," Gayle noted.
“In contrast, I picked South Africa as a dark horse before the tournament began, and it is very special to see them finally reach their first final after so many semi-final upsets.
“Getting over the hump and winning a World Cup is so special and if they can do it, it will create memories that will last a lifetime for the players and the nation,” he added.

Both India and South Africa have been unbeaten throughout the tournament. India had one washed out match in Group Stage apart from their six wins.
South Africa, on the other hand, have won all of their matches - seven in total - albeit a few of them were closer than they would have liked.
This is first time South Africa have reached final of an ICC tournament in their cricket history. Notably, they had failed seven times in the semis of ICC tournaments before winning this time.
The Proteas beat Afghanistan convincingly in the semifinal to enter their maiden final.
India, on the other hand, will be featuring in the third ICC tournament final in last one year. They had previously played ICC World Test Championship in June 2023 to go with 2023 ODI World Cup final as well.
Rohit's men, however, had lost both the finals to Australia.
