'Be humble,' Sanju Samson reveals advice by skipper Suryakumar and coach Gambhir after ton vs Bangladesh

India batter Sanju Samson revealed that skipper Suryakumar Yadav told him to go easy and score the hundred instead of hitting a boundary during the third T20I against Bangladesh on Saturday (Oct 12). Samson, however, hit a four to reach his ton off 40 balls - the second fastest for India in T20Is.
“When I was 96 I told Surya that I'll smash but Surya told me to go easy because you earned it. But I'm very happy with the kind of clarity I've received from captain Surya and Gautam bhai. They said play aggressively and be humble and that suits me well,” he said after the match.

Samson eventually got out after scoring 111 off 47 balls as India managed 297/6in 20 overs - the highest T20I score by a Test playing nation and second highest overall in T20Is behind Nepal's 314 against Mongolia in Asian Games last year.
In reply, Bangladesh could manage just 164/7 and lost the match by 133 runs as India completed a 3-0 whitewash.
Skipper Surya also lauded Samson's selflessness and asserted that he wants those kind of players in the team.
