'Big threats on my life by Iran': Trump says after US intelligence warns him of assassination threat

The US intelligence agencies briefed former President Donald Trump of "real and specific" threats from Iran to assassinate him, his presidential campaign said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 24). The statement highlighted that the threat of assassination was an effort to destabilise and "sow chaos" in the US.
“President Trump was briefed earlier today by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence regarding real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States,” Steven Cheung, Trump's Campaign communications director said on Tuesday night.
Later, Donald Trump in a social media post on X, said that big threats are there on his life by Iran, adding that moves were already made, but did not work out.
"Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before. Thank you to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service - Zero “NO” Votes, strictly bipartisan. Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something. An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!," he wrote on X.
Cheung said that intelligence officials have identified these "continued and coordinated" attacks increased in recent months and law enforcement officials across all agencies have been working to ensure Trump is protected and the upcoming elections are free from interference.

"Make no mistake, the terror regime in Iran loves the weakness of Kamala Harris and is terrified of the strength and resolve of President Trump. He will let nothing stop him or get in his way to fight for the American people and to Make America Great Again," he said.
Past assassination attempts on Trump
Earlier, two assassination attempts have been made on Republican presidential nominee Trump.
The first failed assassination attempt on Trump was made on July 12, during one of his rallies in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a bullet grazed his ear.
The second attemptwas made on September 15 at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. In the latest development, Ryan Routh, the gunman who attempted to kill Trump has been charged with 'attempted assassination' by the prosecutors, on Wednesday.
The US presidential elections are scheduled for November 5, with Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris facing each other in competition.
Iran,has previously denied US claims of interfering in American matters. However, on the reports of threats of assassination attempt on Trump, Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations in New York and the ODNI did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
