Iran did succeed in striking airbases during missile attack, says Israel

Israel said Iran did succeed in striking its airbases during a missile attack on Tuesday, however, adding that the damage caused was limited.
The Israeli military said that Iran did succeed in striking Israeli airbases with missiles, but the attack was "ineffective", the Guardian reported, citing Israeli local media.
It stated that the attack damaged office buildings and other maintenance areas in the bases that do not impact the IAF’s functioning, according to the military.
Moreover, no Israeli Air Force aircraft were damaged in the attack, and all the missile impacts on Israeli airbases were deemed as “ineffective”by the IDF, meaning that no harm was caused to the continuous operations of the IAF, according to Israeli media.
One person in the Israeli-occupied West Bank was killed by falling debris from an intercepted missile, whiletwo were injured by shrapnel in Tel Aviv.

The IDF said that it measures the effectiveness of an attack on the basis of how much damage it caused to critical infrastructure and assets, how many casualties were caused, and not how many missiles ultimately impacted.
On the contrary, Iran defence minister, Brig Gen Aziz Nasirzadeh, earlier claimed that 90 per cent of missiles had been able to breach Israel’s defences, and that Tehran had only targeted military installations.

Mossad head holds meeting with officials
The Israeli military said its chief of staff, the head of Shin Bet and the head of the Mossad all met at the Kirya in Tel Aviv. They are expected to discuss Israeli plans to respond to Iran’s attack yesterday.
