Canada's biggest gold heist: Two Indian-origin men among six arrested

At least two Indian-origin men have been arrested during an operation carried out by Canadian and United States authorities in connection with what they called the largest gold heist in Canadian history. A total of six men have been arrested in a case related to a multimillion-dollar gold heist at Toronto's main airport, Peel Regional Police (PRP) said.
Police are probing thegold heist in which a shipment of 6,600 gold bars from a refinery in Switzerland and C$2.7mn in cash were stolen from a cargo facility at Toronto's Pearson International Airport last year on April 17. So far, very little of the gold has been recovered.
In the latest development, two persons of Indian origin - Parmpal Sidhu (54) and Amit Jalota (40) both from Ontario were arrested. Ammad Chaudhary (43), Ali Raza (37) and Prasath Paramalingam (35) were also nabbed.
Lead investigator Detective Sgt. Mike Mavity said that two men who worked for the airline were instrumental in pulling it off.
Sidhu was one of the employees. He worked in the warehouse. He was arrested and charged. On the other hand, police are searching for Simran Preet Panesar (31) who is also from Brampton.

"They needed people inside Air Canada to facilitate this theft," Mavity said.
What's the case?
Last year, a delivery truck gained entry into the compound. He showed a legitimate airway bill, which is a document typically issued by a carrier with details on a shipment.
After that, the truck was loaded with gold bars and cash, then it left the compound. However, it later emerged that the airway bill was a duplicate.
