After Trump was shot, he argued with Secret Service agents about being put on stretcher

Donald Trump, in an interview that aired Monday (Jul 22), recalled the moment he was shot at during his campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Talking to Fox News host Jesse Watters, Trump said there was a lot of blood which alarmed the Secret Service agents, who thought that he had been hit in the abdomen. He further demanded that an investigation be conducted to see if the White House was in the wrong this whole time regarding Biden and his health.

As the shots rang, the agents piled up on top of him and wanted to take Trump away on a stretcher. Trump said he refused to abide by it.

“They wanted to put me on a stretcher,” Trump said, stating that he even had a little argument with them. “They had a stretcher, and they wanted to put me on a stretcher. And I said, ‘I’m not going on a stretcher.’”

He, however, said that he understood their concerns since the blood was everywhere. “I just felt it was the ear,” Trump said, stressing that the amount of blood raised concerns.

“I said, ‘I’m telling you, I’m OK. I’m fine. I’m going to get up. I want to get up. I’m not going to be taken out on a stretcher,’” he said.

During the interview, Trump also revealed what Biden said to him during their phone call following the assassination attempt.

“He said, ‘You’re lucky you turned to the right,’” the 78-year-old Republican told Watters.

Notably, Trump turned his head to look at a chart behind him, and right at this moment, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks opened fire. That head turn saved Trump's life.

Trump demands probe into White House

Joe Biden might have now dropped out of the presidential race, but Trump is demanding an investigation into the White House to know whether it tried to cover up Biden's physical and mental decline. “I think somebody has to look at it,” Trump said. “Look, you had people that lied to the American public."

Pointing fingers at Biden's doctors, Trump asked how did they keep giving him a good report.

"And I tell you what, you ought to take a look at his doctors because his doctors keep giving him this wonderful report," he said.

He recalled the time he saw him struggling to climb the stairs of his airplane. “I’m not a doctor, but I saw [Biden] the other day. He was unable to get up the children stairs going into Air Force One.”

In an apparent reference to White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Trump said,"I know all about his doctor, by the way – his doctor says he’s in good health. He’s not in good health. I don’t think he’s in good health."

On the shooting, Trump said somebody should have made sure there was nobody on that roof. He said that he didn't understand why wasn't his speech delayed if the shooter had already been identified as “suspicious”.

He said that Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle reached out to him. "She was very nice, I thought. But, you know, somebody should have made sure there was nobody on that roof,” Trump said.

“That roof was a dead aim right onto the stage."

He was told that they didn't have the manpower to check the roof, which is said to be "crazy". "It sounds like a lot, but it's really, from that standpoint, it's a very, you know, it's very close," he said.

At the Republican Convention in Milwaukee, Trump officially accepted the nomination to run for president.
