Indian cricket coach Rahul Dravid will have his tasks cut out during the 2024 T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the USA starting June 1. While ensuring the Men in Blue are successful in their quest to win an ICC tournament would be his primary job, Dravid would also have to bring Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya together in a happier space. Although there is no rift per se, several social media reports suggested that bothdidn'tshare the best times in MumbaiIndians’dressing room sincePandya’sappointment as the new captain.
Bhogle wrote on the microblogging website X, saying he is astoundedat how Mumbai performed this season, how despite having beenone of the favourites at the start, they failed to make the most of this chance.
He wrote,“The capitulation of #MI has to be thestory of the tournament. A very large no of us believed they would make the playoffs. But given that it has not happened, we must look at it from an India perspective. RahulDravid'sbiggest immediate job would be to get two key players, the captain and the vice-captain, back in a good space and, critically, in form.”
Playing their second-last game this season at the Eden Gardens against KKR the other night, MI lost by 18 runs, losing their ninth game this season. Although former captain Rohit is terribly out of touch since scoring a hundred against CSK at home, captain Pandya also struggled in every aspect of the game, including leadership.
