India's Ambati Rayudu announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Indian middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu has announced retirement from all forms of cricket on Wednesday. Rayudu has written toThe Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI).
The decision came after he was snubbed for the Cricket World Cup 2019, which is underway in England and Wales.
He was not named in India's 15 member squad as all-rounder Vijay Shankar got the opportunity to play for Team India.
India made two replacements during the tournament as Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar were ruled out due to injury but still, Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal's names were preferred over Rayudu.

Rayudu was a regular member of the Indian squad for the past one year and averaged 47.05 in the ODI format. He was the team's number four batsman since the Asia Cup last year. He had scored one century and four half-centuries since then.
Rayudu even scored 113-ball 90 in New Zealand earlier this year paving the way for India's victory.
However, his performance in therecently concluded ODI series against Australia was not up to the mark. Rayudu played 55 ODIs for India, scoring 1694 runs at an average of 47.06
