2. Four junior doctors, who had dinner with the woman trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, have been summoned again by police for questioning.
3. The Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) on Monday (Aug 12) announced a nationwide pause in elective services in hospitals.
4. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, after paying a visit to the parents of the deceased on Monday, gave a deadline of August 18 to Kolkata Police to solve the case.

5. FORDA has demanded the resignation of all authorities concerned who could not protect the dignity and life of a woman on-duty doctor.
6. The ongoing strike by doctors at AIIMS Delhi has significantly impacted hospital operations, with a drastic 80% decline in daily surgeries and a 35% drop in admissions, according to PTI.
