The Jammu and Kashmir police have filed a 1500 page charge sheet againstLashkar-e-Taiba and eight accused in Amarnath Yatra bus attack that took place in July 2017.
On July 10, abus bearing the registration number GJ09Z 9976 was attacked by terrorists at around 8:20 pm (local time) near Khanabal when it was on its way to Jammu.
The attack claimed the lives of seven pilgrims while injuring 32 others.
A special investigative team was constituted where Tahir Ashraf Bhatti carried investigation under the close supervision of SSP Anantnag and DIGP SKR Anantnag.
The Jammu and Kashmir police had established that the attack was conducted by Pakistan based terrorists. Further Investigations revealed the complicity of eleven people.
The main accused in the instant case Abu Ismail, a Pakistani Nationalwas killed in an encounter at Arigam, Nowgam, Srinagar on September 14, 2017.
Two other terrorists, hailing from Pakistan, involved were killed in an encounter at Qazigund on December 12, 2017.
Other accused in the case,Khalid Muzafar Dar of Rehpora Khudwani, Tanveer Ahmad Dar of Rehpora Khudwani and Sarjeel Ahmad Shiekh of Khudwani are absconding in the case.
The accused persons in the instant case namely Aijaz, Bilal and Zahoor were arrested and are presently in the Judicial custody.
A juvenile arrested in the case is currently out on bail.
