Heavy rains lashed Mumbai today leaving streets waterlogged in several parts of the city.
The Santacruz observatory in Mumbai received 25 mm of rain till Friday evening. The Metrological office has predicted more rains in the city over the weekend.
The government has put the National Disaster Relief Force(NDRF) on alert as several areas were inundated due to rains.
The monsoon arrived inMaharashtra on Friday bringing rains in the city. According to the Meteorological Department, in the next few hours, it may reach the surrounding areas around Mumbai.
At least two flight were cancelled due to flooding, reports said. Hindmata and Lower Parel were flooded on Saturday morning.

"Heavy to very heavy rainfall was recorded in the suburbs till 8.30 am today," IMD Deputy Director K S Hosalikar said.
Meanwhile, trains on the suburban section of the Central Railway (CR) were running late by 10-12 minutes due to the showers, an official said, adding that there were no cancellations.
"There was a case of wall debris falling on tracks this morning on Down slow line. The debris were removed immediately and for some time, trains on down slow line were diverted to the fast line," Sunil Udasi, Chief PRO of CR, said.
