Students are protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar against having to sit for two of their CBSE papers again. ANI quoted the students as saying that re-exams should be either held for all papers, or for none.

News reports Thursday quoted the students as saying that more than two papers had been leaked.The reports quoted Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar as saying Wednesday that "two to three" papers had been leaked.

The CBSE Wednesday announced re-exams for its Class X Math exam and its Class XII Economics exam.The CBSE has said it will announce the dates for the re-exams by the end of the week.

News reports said Thursday that even the CBSE chief had received a faxed copy of the math paper the morning of the exam.

Police meanwhile have begun investigating the leak.

ANI reported Thursday that the CBSE had approached Delhi Police naming a person running a coaching institute as being behind the leak.

At least one news report said the alleged kingpin behind the leak had been detained.

The government reacted to the criticism on Thursday, with Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar calling the leak an "unfortunate development".

He added: "I understand the pain the parents and students have to go through. Whoever is involved in the paper leak will not be spared, police will soon arrest the culprits."
