Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could miss the all-important final Premier League match of the season against Everton later this month. With a title on the line, Arteta is walking a tightrope and any disciplinary action against him could lead to a touchline ban, which may have a negative effect on the team's morale.
Heading into the penultimate match against Manchester United, Arteta has received five yellow cards - the most a manager has accumulated this season. Another yellow card against the Red Devils on the Old Trafford turf would mean a one-game suspension for the Spanish manager.
With the tempers expected to flare, as they usually do in fixtures of such magnitude, it would augur best for Arteta and Arsenal that he keeps a calm demeanour. A suspension would result in Arteta's team playing in front of relegation battlers, Everton, without his guidance.
Everton halt title challengers
The Toffees, under manager Sean Dyche, have already shown that they are capable of halting title charges. Cross-city rivals Liverpool found it the hard way last month when the title challengers succumbed to a 0-2 defeat and fell behind in the race against Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Arsenal gaffer has already faced suspension once thus season after receiving three yellow cards following a booking against Luton Town. He was forced to miss the Gunners' trip to Aston Villa in December and his side were beaten 1-0, showing the significant impact his absence had on the team. December was the month where Arsenal lost steam in the title race before roaring back to form.
Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League points table, having collected 83 points in 36 matches played. Manchester City are on second spot with 82 points but have a game in hand and could potentially leapfrog Arsenal after the match against Fulham on Saturday (May 11).
The calculation is simple for Arsenal to win its first Premier League title in nearly two decades. The London-based team needs to win all its matches and hope that City drop a point or lose one of their matches. As for Liverpool, a lot hinges on both Arsenal and City imploding at the final hurdle which looks highly unlikely at this stage.
