Jurassic World Rebirth: First look, title, synopsis and other details revealed

The first look at the new Jurassic World film is here. On Thursday (Aug 29), Universal Pictures shared the first look of the movie starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali.

The fourth film in the series is directed by Gareth Edwards (who helmed the Godzilla movie). The new dinosaur movie boasts an entirely new cast led by Johansson, Ali and Bailey among others.

The previous three Jurassic World movies starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The new movie will hit theatres in July 2025.

The two new photos from the movie show Johansson and Jonathan Bailey watching something with curiosity. The second picture shows a frightened Mahershala. Sharing the photos, the studio wrote, ''A new era is born.''

Who Plays What In The New Movie

The Black Widow star plays a ''covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure [the] genetic material." Ali plays team leader, Duncan Kincaid. Bridgerton and Wicked star Bailey plays Dr. Henry Loomis, a palaeontologist.

The other cast members of the movie are Ed Skrein, Bechir Sylvain and Philippine Velge. Friend and Garcia-Rulfo will play Martin Krebs and Reuben Delgado, respectively.

The new movie will be set five years after the 2022 movie Jurassic World Dominionwhen the planet's ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.

The official description of the movie says, “Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.''

Led by Chris Pratt, the lastJurassic World film earned negative reviews from the critics and audience. Still, the movie was a huge box-office success, earningover $1 billion worldwide
