Hollywood actress Kate Winslet has always spoken about body positivity and being ashamed of her body size during her early days in the film industry. The Titanic actress recently did a cover shoot with a magazine as she bared it all by posing topless in the sea.
The pictures look stunning as expected but there’s more than what meets the eye as the actress opened up about a time when she was asked to hide her “belly rolls”.
Kate Winslet opens up about new film, Lee and bellyrolls
Kate Winslet in the cover shoot spoke about her upcoming film Lee and the body image issue in the industry. She will be seenplaying Lee Miller, a model-turned-photographer, who goes on to become a war correspondent in World War II.
In the interview, the actor recalled an incident when she was asked by a member of the crew to sit up straighter while filming a scene in a bikini to hide her belly rolls.
She said, "There’s a bit where Lee’s sitting on a bench in a bikini... And one of the crew came up between takes and said: 'You might want to sit up straighter.' So you can’t see my belly rolls? Not on your life! It was deliberate, you know?"
