Angelina Jolie to get Tribute Award at Toronto International Film Festival

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie will receive a special honour for her contribution to the cinema at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. The TIFF will see Angelina get Tribute Award in Impact Media at the festival, according to reports.
She will be awarded the honour at the TIFF fundraiser scheduled for September 8. The award, to be presented by Anne-Marie Canning, recognises efforts in cinema and social work.
Angelina Joliewill join the previous award winners, including Pedro Almodóvar, Mira Nair and Alanis Obomsawin.
This year, Angelina will be recognised alongside actors Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Durga Chew-Bose, David Cronenberg, Clément Ducol and Camille, Jharrel Jerome, Mike Leigh and Zhao Tao, and Sandra Oh.

In a statement, Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF, said, “Angelina Jolie is a multifaceted talent who has entertained audiences for decades while consistently using her platform to champion important causes.”

Angelina Jolie will also have her film premiere at TIFF. Her film, Without Blood is written, directed and produced by Angelina. The film is a war drama based on the Alessandro Baricco novel of the same name. It will tell the story of a girl’s quest for revenge and healing during a time of conflict. It stars Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir in lead roles.
