With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction set to take place on November 24 and 25, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the final list of players that will go under the hammer on Friday (Nov 15). The IPL commission’s final list will see 574 players featured in the auction which will also include 208 overseas stars. Some of the prominent names that will go under the hammer include Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Jos Buttler and others.

574 players to go under the hammer
“The highly anticipated TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) Player Auction List is out with a total of 574 players set to be featured in the Mega Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24th and 25th November, 2024. Out of the 574 Players, 366 are Indian and 208 are overseas, including 3 players from associate nations. The Auction will include 318 Indian uncapped players and 12 uncapped overseas players. 204 slots will be up for grabs with 70 available slots for overseas players,” an IPL release read.
With 46 players retained by the 10 franchises before theOctober 31 deadline, franchises are now gearing up for the auctions as they try to build their squad for IPL 2025. During the retention window, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, SunRisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants retained five players while Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals used all six retention cards. Punjab Kings retained the least number of players with two and have a purse of more than ₹1 billion ($10 million) to spend in the auctions.

When are the IPL Mega Auction?
As announced on Tuesday (Nov 5), the IPL 2025 auctions will be one of a kind and will be held in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah on November 24 and 25.Last year, the auctions were held in Dubai, where Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc were top players to pull off big deals.
