Iranian state television has aired a segment focusing on US President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, and referring to a $10 million reward, in what Iran International described as an unusually direct threat involving a member of the president’s immediate family. The roughly three-minute broadcast reportedly examined ways to reach Barron Trump and used stylised graphics depicting surveillance, online activity, and people in his surroundings.

According to Iran International, the programme displayed locations and online platforms allegedly linked to the effort, while also showing attempts to map social connections around Trump’s son and illustrate how someone could potentially get through layers of Secret Service protection.
The segment relied heavily on dramatised graphics and did not provide evidence that any attempt to reach Barron Trump had taken place or succeeded. However, the decision to air such material on Iranian state television is notable given a history of threats against Trump and other senior US officials in Iranian political rhetoric, state-linked media and public rallies.

US prosecutors have previously accused members or associates of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of plotting to kill former senior American officials. Among the alleged plots were efforts targeting former US national security adviser John Bolton. US authorities said those plans were linked to retaliation for the 2020 US killing of Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani.
Trump himself has also been the subject of alleged Iranian assassination plots. In 2024, US prosecutors said Tehran had tasked an operative with developing a plan to kill Trump. Iranian threats have also contributed to heightened security measures around the US president.
