The woman who married herself last year has called it quits, and marriage is reportedly over.Suellen Carey, an influencer, model, and Mariah Carey impersonator made headlines when she tied the knot with herself in London.
The sacred bond lasted almost a year. UK publication, Mirror reported Carey as saying that she faced some difficulties after committing to herself.
“It’s crucial to know when to end a cycle,” Carey reportedly said.
She added that she couldn't be "perfect" for herself in the relationship. “Even commitment to oneself can have its challenges, such as dealing with the expectation of being perfect for yourself all the time.”
Marrying oneself apparently also has a name - Sologamy.
Carey didn't give up without a fight despite facing problems in the "marriage". She says she even went to couple's therapy to work out the issues in her solo marriage.

The 36-year-old was born in Brazil but lives in London. The Mirror further reported that she took 10 sessions of couple's therapy but it didn't work out. She admits that she felt lonely in the marriage.
“I realized that my sologamous marriage was a process of healing and self-discovery,” she continued. “But I also understood that personal growth can lead us in different directions.”
She is now looking for a husband, as per the story she shared on Instagram along with a Pubity post about the divorce. She wrote, "I need a new husband."
Carey announced on Sept. 21, 2023, that she had married herself and posted a photo in a white wedding dress.
“Today I value and love myself, I married myself here in London,” Carey said. “This celebration is important because I learned to prioritize my well-being and mental health. In my vows, I wrote and declared my commitment to caring for and valuing my self-love”
Carey has around 433,000 followers on Instagram and attained fame for being a Mariah Carey impersonator. She first broke on the scene in 2019 after being invited to perform at a lookalike party. It took off and she started making a lot of money.
