
In a very rare incident, a thief who entereda doctor's residence with the intention of robbery in Lucknow, went into deep slumber because of extreme intoxication.
The next morning, when the thief woke up from his sleep, he was shocked to discover that he was surrounded by policemen.
The case was reported in Sector 20 of Indira Nagar. It falls in the jurisdiction of the Ghazipur police station.
According tomedia reports, the house in which the theft occurred belonged to Sunil Pandey, who is a residence of Indira Nagar Sector 20 of Lucknow.

Pandey works at Balrampur Hospital and is currently stationed in Varanasi because of which the house was unoccupied.
The neighbours felt something was wrong in Pandey's home after they saw the door ajar in the morning hours. When they peeped inside the house, theysaw that the house was ransacked and the items were strewn around.
They called the Ghazipur police and the cops then found the thief sleeping. He was later identified as Kapil. The police arrested him and he was booked under IPC Section 379 A for theft.

Ghazipur Station House Officer (SHO) Vikas Rai said that they are carrying out the legal proceedings. As per the official, the intruder also tampered with the water pump before trying to remove the house battery, however, moments later he fell asleep.
"The cupboards were broken into. Everything, including cash, was taken. The thief even attempted to steal the washbasin, gas cylinder, and water pump," the official said, while speaking to The Times Of India.
"It appeared he collapsed from intoxication while attempting to remove the battery and fell asleep," he added.
