Delhi has pooled in some great players to structure a well-balanced team for the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League. Delhi will play their first match on April 8, 2018, against Punjab.
Gautam-led Dilli team are one of the best contenders for IPL 2018 title.
Here is the list of Strengths and Weaknesses of Delhi team:
Strengths:
The arrival of Gautam Gambhir in the Delhi squad in the biggest strength for the team.
The top batting order is marvelous as Delhi have power-hitters like Gautam Gambhir, Glenn Maxwell, Jason Roy, Colin Munro.
The under-19 players Prithvi Shaw and Manjot Kalra will boost the batting strength when given chance.
South African pacer Chris Morris is the backbone of bowling strength.
Trent Boult and Mohammed Shami will add required pace strength.
Jayant Yadav, Shabaz Nadeem and experienced Amit Mishra will provide a skilled set of spin-bowling options which can trouble the opponent.
Weaknesses:
The middle batting order lacks strength.
The choice of retaining Rishabh Pant was good but the amount spent on him seems useless. Delhi spent Rs 15 cr to retain Rishabh Pant instead of that they could have opted for another middle order batsman to solidify number 5 and 6 positions.
The exit of Kagiso Rabada is also a drawback for the squad.
